Who we are
Alberta Ticket Fighter (“ATF,” “we,” “us”) is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. Our office is at 11445 - 124 Street, Suite 206, Edmonton, AB T5M 0K4. You can reach us at 780-429-4344 during business hours (Mon–Fri, 9:00am–5:00pm MT).
What information we collect
We collect only the information necessary to assess your ticket and respond to your request:
- Identity and contact information — your name, phone number, email address, and city (collected through the Free Ticket Review form, by phone, or by text).
- Ticket details — the charge, the deadline or court date, whether the ticket has been paid, and the jurisdiction.
- Uploaded images or documents — photos of the citation (front and back) and any related paperwork you choose to share.
- Free-form details — anything you write in the optional message field about what happened.
- Technical information — IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. Used for security (rate limiting, spam protection) and basic analytics.
Why we collect it
We use your personal information only for the purposes you provided it:
- To review your ticket and respond to your request
- To represent you in your matter if you engage us
- To communicate with you using the method you selected (phone, text, email)
- To meet legal, regulatory, and professional record-keeping obligations
- To detect and prevent spam, abuse, and security threats
Lawful basis (Alberta PIPA)
Our collection, use, and disclosure of personal information is governed by Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). The lawful basis is your consent: by submitting the Free Ticket Review form or contacting us, you consent to our use of the information you provide for the purposes set out above. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us; withdrawal may limit our ability to continue representing you.
How long we keep it
We retain client files in line with our professional record retention obligations and applicable Alberta law. For submissions that do not result in an engagement, we retain the intake record for up to 24 months for follow-up and quality purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
Third-party processors
We use a small number of third-party services to operate the site and intake process. Each one only receives the information required for its specific function:
- Vercel (hosting) — serves the website. Sees standard request logs.
- Form delivery / email — the Free Ticket Review form delivers submissions to the firm’s intake inbox.
- Phone and text carriers — for the toll-free numbers listed on the site.
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your rights
Under PIPA you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Withdraw your consent (subject to legal and contractual restrictions)
- Complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta
To exercise any of these rights, call us at 780-429-4344 or use the Free Ticket Review form to reach us in writing.
Security
The site uses HTTPS for all traffic. The intake form is rate- limited and protected against common automated abuse. Uploaded ticket images are not made publicly accessible. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
Children
Our services are intended for licensed drivers and adult residents of Alberta. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 14.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always posted at this URL with the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
